Notice how the sun on the right side is projecting a lot more of a light shadow than the one on the left.

Why is that?

Perhaps it's just more misty in Appleton?

It is one of the widgets wheathers. Open a new widget and Cmd+Alt click on it and you'll cycle through the possible wheathers, you'll see that yours is one of the options. I don't think the widget is acting up

Also, I was wondering if there's a way to get rid of the seconds hand in the clock widgets? They take up unnecessary CPU time with the little bouncy effect they do. I don't want my PB fan turning on just because I'm looking at a couple of clocks.

That I don't know. Maybe just another clock widget? The widgets don't use any CPU resources when Dashboard is inactive. You can see that if you open Activity Monitor, and then Activate/Deactive Dashboard.

d.fine is correct. The Appleton widget is displaying the "sunny but hazy" condition. Nicosia is displaying just "sunny".

I have menumeters. My favorite freeware

When I press F12 I can plainly see Menumeters and the CPU meter. Each second-hand tick costs like 40% CPU. It's really annoying and causes my PB fan to turn on. It's a 12" Rev A. It's really annoying. Yet another reason to buy an iBreeze.

I'm sure some digital clocks will be coming. I don't see them eating any more CPU than any other (I only use them to check the time in other time zones since I have the clock in my menu bar).

I would think you'd need to seriously max out Dashboard for some time to get the fans going.

That's odd, I also use MenuMeters, and I don't see any spikes in CPU usage when clocks are open and Dashboard is active. I see a small spike right when I open Dashboard, but then it goes down again, to the regular use.

Oh well, as Randman mentioned, you'll probably be able to install a digital clock pretty soon, for all the time zones. Lets just hope it will stop heating your PB up...
