Hi all,

Is anyone else having internet problems with Tiger? I can visit any website and have it timeout on me upon first visit of the day (such as yahoo.com) via Safari or Firefox. I can visit newsgroups and have it turn off midway through a transfer for no reason. Refreshing the browser or quitting Unison and starting over will (refresh) the connection and enable it to work fine for at least a few minutes before this cycle starts again.

I initially did a basic upgrade path from 10.3 and had these issues. So, I reformatted my secondary drive. This is a legit copy of Tiger, installed fresh on a fresh reformat of my dual 1.8 G5.

Any suggestions are more than appreciated. Thanks!

Do you have a custom DNS server? Is it up-to-date?

I replaced my D-Link router with a Netgear and all Tiger Internet problems are gone.

Hi all,

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and links! I do not have a custom DNS, but did find my Comcast cable DNS through my Netgear router;s online status report. I placed those values in the "System Preference > Network > TCP/IP" in the DNS server fields and all is working like a charm!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
