in Tiger how do i get RealAudio files on webpages to open in
RealPlayer and not try to open in Quicktime? i've installed and
configured the latest RealPlayer but the links still open up Quicktime
which of course can't play these files.
And on Amazon.com, clicking the realaudio previews for songs just opens my stupid Virex.
Any suggestions?

If Virex is launching when you click to play an audio file then it may "think" the file could have a virus contained and prevent it from
playing. Do you have to use Virex? It may not serve a major purpose for you at this time.
Also it may be a good idea to use Spotlight and remove all RealOne files and re-download and install it once again.

I think you can do this by opening RealPlayer's preferences and clicking on the Media Types tab. Check off "Show private RealPlayer types", make sure the ones you want RealPlayer to handle are checked off in the list, and click "Save Media Types".
I'm still on Panther, so please let us know if it works!
