Is tis app a good idea if I want to control two or three sound inputs and outputs. I want to be able to listen to mp3's and use thecomputer/internet for telephone and still be able to audibly discern System sounds when they occur?

If it is which Directory should I install it in ?

I think the app only lets you switch what the primary output is. In other words you cannot have it play the audio from certain apps to certain speakers. The option to send specific audio to a set output device is usually in the app itself. For example ichat has its own options for audio output. The app comes with an installer so there is no need to worry about what directory to install it in.
