I just upgraded to Tiger 10.4.1. When double click on my hard drive, the window that opens show the contents as folders. I want it to show everything as a grid list instead, but without having to click on that option in the menu bar every time.

Is there a way to set this to happen?

Also, when opening up folders, why doesn't the window resize to fit what's inside? It did in my old 10.2.8 OS.

Open the drive window, change to list view, close it again without going anywhere. It will then open as list view from then on.

I don't remember Finder windows changing the size while browsing folders.
