Widgets not installing?

When I get a new widget i download, i then go double click the the .zip an expand it with apples expander not stuffit. Then I double click he widget and it opens in dashboard but it doens't copy into the widget folder, i have to do that myself. Is this nomal? Seems liek alot of work to install a widget.

That's normal.
Widget installation and deinstalltion ought to be more comfortable and user-friendly, I agree.

They are only auto-installing if you have "Open safe files after download" turned on in the Safari preferences. If you have that turned off (which is wise) or use another browser, you will have to copy them to the Widgets folder yourself.

AH I thought something was funky! Friggin speed downoad was stoping the auto run feature. i uninsalled it and its now fixed.

So "most" believe that moving Widget in and out of a folder in Finder and logging out to have changes take effect is just fine? "Most" believe no mean to organize the Dashboard-Dock directly from Dashboard itself is necessary?

There are some Automator workflows available that take care of matters. I have one as a Finder plug-in. I just control-click on the widget and activate the workflow that moves the widget to my Library > Widget folder and even replaces the older one (in case it's an update). Very handy, very easy and very free.
