How in the world do you set up a RAID 5 on mac OSX. I have a SCSI card, a SCSI case all setup with drives, the system see's everything but there are absolutly no RAID 5 options in Disk Utility.

How else can you do a RAID 5 via software, I'd hate to have to shell out for a true RAID card. This is one thing I hate to say at least windows 2000 has it inplemted but it's more server based. Can OSX Server preform RAID 5 setups?

You could do a RAID 10 via software, but not RAID 5.

When I go into my Disk Administrator it certainly looks like I can do RAID 0 and RAID 1 independently.... is that not the case?

I don't see RAID 5 though, granted - no parity options.

Yes those options work, but was hoping to be able to do a RAID 5. I got ahold of a nice little 6 SCSI disk external unit with 10,000 rpm drives and it flys just wated the reduntency of a raid 5 to use it as files backup ect. Works fine with a regular stripped array though.

P.S. - Detrius, Like the new job? Heard you moved outa town and see your out in CA now, still never got to go to a club meeting here lol.
