Is there a problem with Quick Time 7 decoding MPEG 2? Is it something that comes with Pro maybe? If so, do you think it's worth going to pro; will it read MPEG 2s or do I need to PAY beyond pro for that.

I don't seem to have found any direct info to these questions, even on Quick Time sites...

Any feedback would be cool...

Dave.

You have to pay for pro to do MPEG 2 in QuickTime 7, but that's it.

VLC will do MPEG 2 for free, though some people have problems with it.

Going "pro" may be worth it however to both do MPEG 2 natively, and to reinstate the ability to ****ing save a QT file.

Bad! Bad Apple!

No. Pro has nothing to do with MPEG-2 or any other codec. It just enables the editing and fullscreen functions. The MPEG-2 decoder is a separate paid download and can be installed with or without QTPro.

Not a Mac OS discussion. QuickTime isn't even specific to Macs...
