The purpose of this thread is for people to know where to look for files on their computer in case Spotlight won't find them (since Spotlight is now the only way to find something on the Mac and is limited).
* Please indicate if you know whether or not a certain file's inability to be found is Apple's intention or if it is simply a bug.
* If intentional, whether or not you agree with Apple's decision to "block" is irrelevant.
* Please indicate if you know of a way to get around a limitation.
* Please indicate if anyone's lists are inaccurate.
I'll start:
/Library/Printers and its contents
~/Library/Printers and its contents
/System and its contents
/System Folder and its contents (<-- for OS 9)
/Users (contents can still be found)
I'm pretty sure all of these are intentional by Apple. Please confirm.
