Hi there,

Have had some strange experiences since installing Tiger. For example, when I originally installed it, had some really strange problems with windows appearing in odd places (off screen, sometimes) but appears to be fixed now with 10.4.1.

However, I now have different problems, the one that's ticking me off most is that Finder doesn't appear to be reading the keyboard _at all_. Keyboard shortcuts don't work (as in, eject, close window, etc), I can't rename a file (as in, actually type something in), can't use arrow keys, nothing.

Other applications are fine, more or less.

It's probably a setting somewhere, but I sure as hell can't find it.

Anybody know?

Have you tried unplugging the keyboard and replugging it into the USB port?

I have had this issue from time to time and Force-quitting the Finder seems to resolve it temporarily.

It's a Powerbook, so no, unplugging the keyboard doesn't work. The keyboard works fine in other applications - just not finder.

Force-quitting the finder doesn't help. This happens all the time, and has been the case since I upgraded to 10.4.1. Rebooting, et al, does not work.

And this happens in other accounts, right? The fact that it only happens in the Finder indicates it's not a hardware problem, at least.
