i bought a new 17-inch 1.67 powerbook in march and have already packed the hard drive (less than 5 gigs left). besides documents and music, i have lots of installed apps and things as well. i havent run any maintenance software or repaired permissions at all. if i were to do any of the maintenance stuff or permissions repairing with disk utility, is it possible that this could damage anything? and regarding repairing permissions in particular, i was wondering if maybe running disk utility could accidentally do something bad (repair a permission that is wrong to cause something not operating right or conflict with something else)?
im not very well versed with macs so any help is appreciated! thanks in advance
