Hello all. I am consistently getting a kernel panic in Tiger when using Wireless Modem and my Treo 600 as a wireless modem. I connect ok. Then several minutes into session, the session hangs. I go to the modem icon and select disconnect. It starts to disconnect but doesn't fully.
When I then try to restart, or sleep, I get a kernel panic.
Here's what shows up in the Log:
Unresolved kernel trap(cpu 0): 0x300 - Data access DAR=0x0000000000000060 PC=0x00000000004B5320

In the sticky on panics, it says the crucial line is com.apple.iokit.IOSerialFamily(8.0.0d28)@0x4b0000. But I don't know the implications of this line or what I can do to fix this.
Any help appreciated.

It seems like you have pinned it down about as much as you are likely to be able to. The panic log matches up with what you are doing. If this is a bug, the fix will likely come from Apple. It's possible the kernel extension is corrupt. If so, you would need to look into how it became corrupt--overlapping files due to corrupt directory structure, bad RAM, bad blocks on the hard drive, faulty OS install disk, etc...

Thanks Detrius. If the kernel extension is corrupt, is there a way to replace it without doing a complete reinstall?
