When the Mac is turned on and a button w/a World Globe on top of it comes on and starts flashing – switching to a folder w/a question mark and flashes back and forth from folder to ?. Any idea what that is? The Mac is completely frozen. It happened after “itunes” 4.8 was downloaded, which initially only made “itunes” crash, now it’s the whole shebang!!

Thanks in advance.

At startup, hold down the option key to boot into the boot manager. Select the hard drive, click the ---> arrow that points to the right to continue booting. Once in your account, go to Apple->System Prefs and choose startup disk and make sure your volume is selected.
