It only updates two non-integral components under Panther:

As with iTunes 4.8 and 10.4.1, this security update doesn't show up in Software Update. I did an erase and install of Tiger when I bought it, and SU has never worked properly. Has anyone found a solution for this problem?

Software Update has stopped working completely for me too, the progress bar never gets further than a cm before stalling.

Tiger has no end of these daft glitches.

[btw, do you connect through a proxy server as I do?]

Lucky we have you eh mdc! Thanks for showing us this..
Gave me an idea though.. Maybe Apple should come up with some kind of automated software update control panel software to let us know about such updates. What do you think?

Actually, after my p***ing and moaning last night it eventually showed up - the first update to do so since I installed 10.4.
