Does this mean the end for FireWire Target Disc mode, booting from FW disc, booting from CD, and OF diagnostics? Is it the end for Open Source firmware?

Will we have to watch tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick PC startup RAM counts? Or hear it behind a splash screen?

Open Firmware is part of the Mac experience, no?
