I just installed OS9 the other day so I could play Deus Ex, but it's quicktime is pretty old... is there a way to update quicktime in classic somehow? Also, how do I get Deus Ex to render via OpenGL? My only options are RAVE and software rendering.

The QuickTime installer is included on disk three of the Tiger install disks. I didn't pay attention to 10.4, but I imagine they're on there somewhere.

RAVE is hardware accelerated. It's the ATI method that was used back in the day before OpenGL was big.

You should also be able to run Classic's own QuickTime Update app, or its own Software Update app.

Very few Mac OS 9 games used OpenGL. I can only think of one off the top of my head: Star Wars Ep. 1 Pod Racer. (Damned fun game, by the way.)

Uhh, I assume you mean disc 3 of Panther? Tiger (10.4) comes on a single DVD.
