i have my stereo hooked to airport express and i can only seem to play music through them in itunes. does anyone know if it's currently possible to run the sound from dvd player through the same setup? i go to dvd prefs/audio and the only option is 'system sound output.' i've gone into system prefs/sound and the internal speakers is the only device showing. i don't want to plug my speakers into the earphone jack either! does anyone know something on this topic that i don't?

Only iTunes works through AEX at the moment. I think we're still expecting some software that could enable this function. don't know if it is available yet.

I haven't tried it personally but it's supposed to do what you want.

I think the problem is the latency that happens when you stream audio over Airport Express. If there's software that lets you play the audio of DVDs over it, report back whether you got that lip-sync.

I was just reading the AirFoil FAQ and they mention the latency as making it pretty much unusable with the Apple DVD player but other players were mentioned that allow for delaying the video.
