as title, thanks
There were once four people named Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody. Somebody had to do a job, but Nobody wanted to do it. Nobody could see that Anybody could do it, and Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Nobody ended up doing it, and it so happened that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

If, when you click on the Spotlight icon, it says "Spotlight is indexing," you may take that as a sign that it's indexing.

Fairly simple, no?

If I recall correctly, a small dot appears inside the magnifying-glass icon when Spotlight is indexing. It's been a while since I caught Spotlight doing that, though. You can also open the Spotlight menu; if it's indexing then the menu will say so.
You are in Soviet Russia. It is dark. Grue is likely to be eaten by YOU!
