I have an iRiver H320 (a hard drive mp3 player that uses USB2 and UMS) that I use with my windows desktop. I went to hook it up to my new PowerBook that has tiger, except nothing happened. It says connected on the screen but it doesn't get mounted. Any ideas?

That was useless response. It turns out my USB wasn't working at all. Until I rebooted.

That happens to me a lot on every mac and every iteration of OS X.... USB will work if it feels like it, and when it doesn't I have to sit through a reboot.
