Can I force the brightness slider in Display Pref?

I have a Dual 2Ghz Rev A, with a Dell 2005FPW LCD monitor.

After calibrating with my Eye1 calibrator, my brightness is off the charts- it's recording 190+ lumens, I want to be around 140.

The problem is that I already have the monitor brightness settings down to 0 (not that I notice a difference between 0 and 100 when I adjust it on the monitor- it's still BRIGHT!).

In Display Pref, I have no slider bar for brightness like you have with the Apple Studio LCD's I've used in the past- is there a way to force it to appear? I think it's my only hope left to get the brightness under control.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Do a search -- there IS a way to actually adjust the Dell display's brightness. You just have to dig into the display's menu -- using the simple front panel controls won't do it.
