Wondering if anyone can help.

I need to point some of my colleagues to nested folders on our server for them to work from. In Windows there is a text bar which tells you where you are - like C:/folder/misc/work/images/mac.jpg

On the Mac (Tiger) is there an easy way to find the location of my files and then copy and paste this location for my colleagues to be able to easily find the file. At the moment I am manually typing them out and it's a waste of time and a chore!!!

Any help would be great. I tried to do a get info on the file, and it shows the nested location in the window but there is no way to copy the text!

Thanks

There is no input field in Mac oS X where you can copy the file path from.
But there is a workaround : just open Terminal, then drag & drop the file/folder inside its window, and it will display its full path, witch you can select with mouse and copy the text to clipboard.

In Tiger I believe you can copy the file, then paste it into Terminal to get the path. Dunno if that is necessarily any easier, but is another option...

You might also want to look into:

Send them an alias? or use a script that copies the path of the selection to the pasteboard?
