Keychain not working?

I putting in passwords etc into forum, websites etc, and keychain box is not coming up asking me to keep. any tips thanks!

Do you have "User names and Passwords" checked in the AutoFill tab in Safari's preferences?

But since it is the fact that Safari is not using the keychain... I think you pointed that name at the wrong person. Add to that that Apfhex actually came up with a good answer...

Thanks, that was unchecked, and I never made a note of it. I assume that was the deal.
I just did a clean install, so maybe that is unchecked by default?
I don't think there is a Safari forum on Macnn is there?
