hi, im in a spanish computer lesson. i have downloaded loads of flash games etc and im having probs. i only download the .swf as IE randomly stops downloading the web archive ( ) so i download it with iGetter. if i double click on the file, it opens it opens it wit quick time and it doesnt play it right. if i get the app menu down and drag the file on to IE, it opens it and gets quick time to do it. if i put a .swf on the end it opens it if i drag it to the app menu but if i double click on it, it still opens it wit quick time. how do i get it to open it without dragging it and without the extension?

cheers, kick52

not sure if this is what you mean, but right click (or hold down ctrl and click) on any file the second option (beneath open) is open with which will provide you with a list of apps to choose from. the last option, other.., will let you specify an app not listed there.

hope that helps.

Seems I missed that. I think the menu is almost identical though. I haven't used OS 9 though in over 4 years.

The "Open With..." submenu didn't appear until (I think) Jaguar.
