my 12" powerbook is working way too hard last few days. incredibly hot, fan on high.

i checked activity monitor, and "print job manager" is using about 75% of the cpu...only i'm not printing anything.

i force-quit it (for now).


any ideas? (why this was using so much cpu, what to do, etc)

Might be related to third-party driver/software... I remember HP drivers were using a lot of CPU even when not printing... did you install any additional software for your printer?

i was just thinking about this:
did some printing to my girlfriend's hp over airport, not where i usually print.
must be that, and i will watch for it again.
