I know a lot of users are experiencing iPhoto color weirdness when editing photos in TIGER only. I think I may be onto something to fix that problem. I recently installed iPhoto on another computer in the house (I basically zipped the iPhoto Application and copied it to the other computer). I didn't install iLife using the installer... just the iPhoto App.

This "other computer" is also running Mac OS X 10.4.1 and it DOESN'T have the weird color problem in iPhoto. There must be SOMETHING in the installer (like a plug-in or something) that is making this problem show up in TIGER ONLY.

Can anyone else try just copying iPhoto '05 to another Mac to see if it gets rid of the problem as well... maybe we can narrow it down to a certain plug-in or something to that nature.

I'd like to hear people's ideas on this.

I had a 15" PowerBook G4 running Tiger iLife '05 and iPhoto worked just fine.

Recently bought a 12" PowerBook G4 running Tiger and iLife '05, and every time any photo is edited (cropped, enhanced, red eye etc), the saturation of the photo will increase as the photo is saved. For instance I will remove red-eye, and the photo will be the same saturation. However when I click 'Done' or 'Next', the photo increases its saturation dramatically before saving changes.

Latest version of everything. Very frustrating!

I read somewhere that someone traced it down to a ColorSync profile issue that only presents itself under certain circumstances. I can't recall the details, but made a note to myself not to use ColorSync or calibrate my display until the issue was resolved.
signatures are a waste of bandwidth
especially ones with political tripe in them.
