Hello everyone,

Here's my setup

Cube with Mac OS 9.2.2 with USB printer (plotter) connected to it.
iMac G5 with Mac OS 10.4.1

I'm trying to share the USB printer with my iMac G5.

Is it possible to do that?

I've started printer sharing on both machines but the iMac G5 doesn't find the printer?! Through what does it connect? AppleTalk?

I'm working with VectorWorks under 10.4.1 to draw my buildingplans and it is with that application I've have to print on the USB printer connected with the Cube. Do I have to select the printer in the classic Chooser pane on the iMac G5?!

Do I forget something????!!!!

Is the printer supported by OS X? Why don't you upgrade the cube to OS X? Does the printer have an ethernet connection? Is there an ethernet upgrade available for it? Is it prohibitively expensive?

The bottom line is that OS X doesn't support OS 9's "USB Printer Sharing." That is only compatible with other OS 9 machines.

It's an large scale printer, the software runs only in Mac OS 9. An upgrade of this software is far more expensive then purchasing a new one.

How do you select a usb shared printer in Mac OS classic?
