anyone else think it would be a good idea if apple were to include the ability to add spotlight comments to a file directly from within open/save dialogues? - so we could add these comments directly at save time. having to manually navigate to a file and get info on it to add spotlight comments retrospectively doesn't make things as easy as they could be.

I think most of the Get Info options should be available in the Save panel — permissions even more than comments.
