I haven't been able to restart my eMac (10.4.1) after an installation or even for maintenance tasks for about a month. I have had to Shut Down. It quits all apps and goes to a blue screen and cursor, but stalls there. I have pushed the restart button on the installation screen and Restart from System Services, and neither works. Log Out works OK, also. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Boot on the Mac OS X install CD and run Disk Utility to repair Disk and Permissions.

I got that from time to time. I put the system to sleep mode and woke it up, it then rebooted.
