I have my Users directory installed on a volume other than my boot volume, which means that I cannot use Apple's Disk Utility to repair the permissions on that volume. Are there any third party utilities or work-arounds that will let me repair permissions on a non-boot volume?

Thanks.

in the terminal:

sudo diskutil repairPermissions <path of volume>

At least I'm pretty sure this is it... I've never tried it on a non system volume though, I wonder ho it would know what the permissions should be in that instance.

It's possible it could induce problems.

It's not possible on a non-boot volume. There are no installer receipts on a non-boot volume. Even if the home directories were on the boot volume, repair permissions wouldn't help any if you messed up those permissions.
