i have a canon i865 and under panther it worked a-ok , now under tiger the printer is tottaly screwed up , everything prints in yellow and it can't print grids , i thought it was clogged heads so i went through all the rigmaroll of cleaning them , even very carefully cleaning them with a cotton bud , then manually realigning them via software

sadly , it's still wonky

any ideas ? is it worth getting it fixed or should i just buy another printer ?

and can anyone suggest a VERY cheap decent inkjet ?*

*i realise now , after 5 years and 4 inkjets that they really are utterly dispsosable items

OR maybe a cheap mono/colour laser printer ???

I'm really having a hard time seeing how this would be a software problem relating to Tiger. If any, it might be a software problem relating to the print driver. Have you tried downloading an update from the vendor's website? Check the date on the newest version available. Perhaps a new, problematic version was bundled with Tiger? If applicable, you could try downgrading to the older printer driver. If any software blame needs to be assigned, it would be with your printer driver, not Tiger (or else we'd all have printing problems).

I'm willing to bet that the problem is mechanical and the fact that you experienced this after upgrading to Tiger is merely coincidental. A good test would be to try printing on any other computer, esp. a computer not running Tiger. If the same problems occur on another computer, obviously Tiger is not the culprit.
