I hope one of you can help me with this crazy issue that has just arisen. Everything is working fine then I repair permissions and WHAM !!! Suddenly Safari, the browser I use regularly, is getting hung up on start up. When Safari is starting up the staus bar begins then about 1/4 of the way the status bar stops and it won't get past that point. I can't figure out what the deal is. At the same time this suddenly happened, the majority of my applications are all freezing up upon start up. I have plenty of memory so thats not the reason. I am baffled because this just suddenly happened. Everything was working perfect. What I did do is run asystem utility to clean the caches, old logs and then I repaired permissions using the install disk. After that, my computer is slow as molassus, Safari won't load past a certain point and many of my other apps are freezing up. What is wierd, is I am currently using Internet Explorer because Safari won't load. I am wondering why are some of my apps freezing up and others are not ??? Any and all guidance you all can give me is greatly appreciated. Peace out.

Ok,
I read in another post here that what I am experiencing could be a bad RAM memory issue. I just recently, 6 months ago, had 512RAM put into my iBook. Could that be going bad and thus creating these symptoms ??? Now, most of my applications are either hanging up with the wait cursor spinning or they crash. I just now tried to install System Optimizer SOX application which required 8.6MB of disk space. I have 13.29GB of disk space available yet the installer said that I could not install the app because I did not have enough disk space. Anyone know what gives ??? Peace out . . .
