I'm having a problem with permissions in my Applications folder. When I install an application, it becomes owed by me (the owner and administrator of the computer), the group is set to admin, and others can read only. Some applications are o.k. with these settings, and my other family members can use the program with no problems. But, I invariably run into apps that don't like this (most recently the Halo demo), and will only work if others is set to read & write. Is there a permissions change I can make to the Applications folder itself that will prevent this problem, but still allow only me to install apps? I'm running 10.4.2 on an Rev B iMac G5.
TIA,
Butch
