Does anyone know why ( or how to get around ) the fact that Apple changed OS X 10.4 and on so that it cannot talk to an OS 9 system on the same network over AFP.
In our net we have an FP iMac, original iMac, an HP Window XP PC and an OS 9 Powerbook G3 (Wallstreet). From my FP iMac, I could drop files into folders on any of the others.
With Tiger, I can no longer see the Powerbook and get a silly message from OS X 10.4 that tells me that it has a version of AFP that is not compatible with my computer.
Any suggestions?
TIA
