Hi everyone!
A couple of weeks ago the finder suddenly lost it´s ability to show me previews of my .jpg picture files. If I have ten pictures in a folder, the finder will preview maybe two of them but the rest is just an ordinary icon. I don´t think I did anything special to make this happen, but I suspect it happened around the time I upgraded to X.4.2. Has anybody else encountered this problem and maybe found a solution?
...and yes, I have checked the settings for finder and I have enabled thumbnail preview, (can´t remember what it is called in English..).

Not that it will help you but I had the same problem with exported ICNS files from Pixadex or just in the app's contents folder. Really annoying. I found that a new user was the solution. I deleted all things that I could find about Finder in terms of preference files. Maybe try that ? i think it's called com.apple.finder.plist.

I´ll try deleting the plist file when I get home from work. About the new user thingy, I did that one time because of a different problem and I still get permissionproblems from time to time because of it. And that was 3 months ago.. Thanks so far!

No luck with deleting the .plist file. Noone with other ideas? I really don't want to make a new user...

Make a new user and at least see if it works. if it does then move your current user's prefercnes folder out of your library and log out then in again. Check to see the propbelm is gone then start moving some of the older prefs back in to the newly created prefs folder.(i.e. printing prefs, adobe etc.)
