For one year my PB has been behaving good, but now I have serious problems with Kernel panics. The latest crash, today while I am writing my master thesis!!, was:

System failure: CPU=0;code=00000001 (corrupt stack)
Last crash info for cpu0;
Exception state (sv=0x384A9500)
PC=0x000940A0; MSR=0x00001030

....
....

Kernel version:
Darwin version:
Darwin Kernel Version 7.9.0:
Memory access exception (1,0,0)

(I hope i got the most important part of the failure msg)

I am using Lyx, Safari, iTunes, Mail and Photoshop for the most time. I suspect as well that Enemy Terrirtory (a game a started to play a few weeks ago, once in a while) may have some responsibility, even tough I never execute the game at the same time as other memory requiring apps, like Photoshop. That said, I have 1GB of RAM, and a 1.25GHz PB 15'' Al.

As well, I have not reinstalled Panther since April 2004, which may be a problem, at least this is a problem on Windows, but not on my Solaris or Linux box!! I thought that OS X was more stable than this ( ? ).

Unfortunately, I cannot reinstall any OS before I am finished with my work, so are there any solutions for this problem besides rebooting my PB every day, as it was a Win95 on a Dell??
How can a boring thing such as a mac or a PC be so exciting??

The answer is in the sticky thread at the top of the forum.

BTW, make sure you have multiple verified good backups of your thesis.

ACSA 10.4/10.3, ACTC 10.3, ACHDS 10.3
