only iTunes is included with the OS.

The rest is iLife and only available bundled with new machines or in the iLife package.

Yea, I was wondering as well where iPhoto was on my PB after I did a fresh install of Tiger. Now we know...

what sucks about this is, my pb had iphoto & imovie when i bought it (a year ago).
by doing a clean install, i lost both apps (good thing i had the ilife dvd).

you'd think the tiger dvd would at least include some version of iphoto...

Your PowerBook came with a software restore CD that includes all the software that was bundled with your computer.

Not sure what you all are talking about..... My Tiger apps folder has iMovie, iPhoto, iTunes,iCal, iSync ect in it. Although they are earlier versions than what comes w/ the iLife Suite.

so what's da deal ?

You likely did an update rather than an erase and install.

No idea why you would ever do a thing like that though.

i need a "slaps own head" smilie here...
forgot entirely about those cds...

meanwhile,
was still worth buying ilife, as i have newer versions of iphoto, imovie...

iphoto really should come bundled on the tiger dvd, since anyone who buys it already has a mac...
(and if they're updating from os9, should be a GIFT for them!)

It is a little silly, but say you bought an iMac G3, you will have the bundled iLife 1.0.

You upgrade to tiger, to get iLife 2005 you need to either buy it seperately or buy a new mac, with which it'll be bundled.

Its an added value program(suite) for new macs, not for the OS. Apple want to keep that seperation for some reason.
