I have an original Blueberry iBook that I have upgraded with ram, wireless, and a 40mb hard drive. No firewire. I am running 10.3.9 without a problem. This iBook will not recognize the install CD for Tiger. Do I have a chance to upgrade to Tiger or have I reached my limit?

Unless you exchanged that Tiger disk for CD's, it's a DVD, therefore, unless your ibook has a dvd drive, no go go

but you could try a netboot/ethernet install from another Mac that does have a DVD drive

Will the CD version install onto an iBook with no firewire though?

One way would be to put your HD in a tiger compatible mac, install it on the HD and move the HD back.

Xpostfacto might help.

The CD version should definitely work, at least with XPostFacto. I run Tiger with XPostFacto on a PowerBook G3/233 that doesn't even have USB, let alone Firewire or a DVD drive. It runs great, including Spotlight, Dashboard etc.

I have been waiting for a post like yours...THANKS! My computing needs are not over the top and I was hoping my blueberry clamshell would have a shot at Tiger. Your post really gives me hope...my unit is G3/300 with USB and 288mb of ram and a 40mb hard drive. It runs 10.3.9 flawlessly. I don't have strong video needs, such as gaming or photoshop. I just want to stay on the most up to date operating system and take advantage of iMac and iDisk features. I appreciate the encouragement.
