Is there any way to copy a large folder to a smb share without stopping due to files that cannot be copied?

Is there a way to do this in the Finder. I am copying a group of large folders on my computer to an external drive. It keeps stopping on a file that can not be read. I want to copy as many files as possible. Is there a way to fix the files or just copy around them? I am getting rid of the computer in a couple of days and want to make sure all my important information is saved.

Thanks.
