Ever since I installed my Brother MDC-3240C (USB) Printer, I've noticed that if I try going to Print (via hitting Command+P) the software I went to Print from crashes. At first I thought it was just in safari, but now I've noticed it happening in every software I try to print from. I have an iBook, so usually if I need to print and I'm not at the desk, I'll print to PDF to print to paper later when I'm at the desk. Now I can't even do that.

here's a screenshot of the error report when I tried to Print in iCal.

any ideas?

Hold the 'option (alt)' key down while starting 'Printer Setup Utiliwy' will reset the printing system, maybe that helps.

Tried all the steps listed, but I still had the same problem.

tried that, and it definately reset my printing system, now I have no printers outside of the PDF printer.

I'll plug in the brother printer next time I'm at the desk, and hopefully this is all fixed.

Thanks for your help!

Well, I tried plugging my printer (brother mdc-3240c) to my airport express. It shows up right away in Printer Utility, but when I print using any program, I'm still getting crashes. And, there's the added negative that I can't use the scanner function of the printer with it connected to the airport express.

Think its time to invest in a spiffy little HP ethernet/wifi printer and be done with it.
