How many posts will it take before someone has a problem, do you think?

I did not notice any problems or changes. That's usually a good thing.

This sucks. Panther's security updates were much better. I'm going back! You Tiger lovers suck!
...
OK, reality just called and all is fine on my PB and the mini.

Both Apple buttons at the same time, sort of like turning both keys at the same time.

But will it make the fans in my new 2.7GHz G5 shut the fsck up?

|

To dislike Sinatra is a sign of highly questionable taste. To dislike the Beatles is a serious character flaw.

Odd. All nine fans going at once would seem to indicate problems.

OK, I'll throw up the first problem. VERY MAJOR.
Reboot after Security Update Install.
Main Admin account, Finder relaunches itself 40/min. making admin account unusable. Safe boot generates same effect.
Other accounts:
Can get to Finder and launch any Apple application. Following applications crash on first screen draw attempt:
Adobe Photoshop CS
Adobe InDesign CS
BBedit 8 (lastest upgrade)
Affrus 1.0.3
Microsoft Word
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Powerpoint
Microsoft Error Manager
Work fine:
Adobe Illustrator CS
Adobe Acrobat Pro 6
Can create a new user account from scratch doesn't solve any of the problems.
Time for DiskWarrior work this evening...

I had the same problems with the microsoft software. Entourage now sees my main identity as corrupt and will not recover the database. Very major indeed.

No problems here with the MS or Adobe stuff. In fact, after opening and then closing Word, the next time I open it, it is now faster than before. That is major indeed.

Managed to get back to working computer by downloading the 10.4.2 combo updater from Apple and reinstalling that. There were no problems and it appeared to overwrite whatever in the security update that had corrupted my system.

This is my first issue with an update:
After using "Software update..." to install the security update; then restarting; and repairing permissions, I've found that my Microsoft Outlook (running in Classic, and connecting to an Exchange server) no longer is able to connect to the network.
I have all other network capabilities it seems, although Outlook is the ONLY application I run in Classic. Therefore I don't have anything to test my network status in Classic to know if it's Outlook, or Classic that is broken.
Any suggestions?

On http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/ they mention this update breaks all 64-bit apps. Apparently Apple has stopped the automatic release of the update already.

Appleinsider also reports the 64-bit app problem. That's kind of disturbing that no one at Apple caught that. You would think testing 64-bit apps and functions would be one of the bigger things to test against.

I got some weird problems too after security update install, many apps were corrupt, icons broken, unable too mount any dmg.
I tried Tech tool pro, fsck, but still some problems.
Now its solved, all back to normal by deleting everything in /library/cache & user/library/cache
