Hey I have a question and I hope one of you might know the answer. I take a screenshot with OS 9 and it creates a simpletext file of the picture. How would I go about converting that picture to a JPG?

Thanks

I think it creates a PICT of it, which SimpleText can open. Try GraphicConverter.

Well, I tried it out and it worked of course, but the software is $30 and I have to type in the registration code to see the JPG's I have made, you know of any simple free utilities by chance?

I don't use OS 9, but a quick search on VersionTracker turned this up.

You don't need to pay to use Graphic Converter. Just click the "try it" button.

It lets you try it, but anything saved with it needs your seriel key entered in order to open it

The other app did an awesome job and much simpler, I love simple.

Yeah, but Preview doesn't run very well on OS 9, does it?

I thought he was trying to open an OS 9 screenshot in OS X. In OS 9, wouldn't Quicktime Player convert it?

That program Chuckit found is awesome. Its called ConvertToJPEG and it is a whopping 8k large. Simply drag n drop anything to make it a JPEG, now that is sweet! If anyone uses OS 9 like me, go ahead and try it out, its a keeper

Running in Classic on my computer, neither QuickTime Player nor PictureViewer is capable of saving anything. I think that would probably be a QuickTime Pro feature.
