I'm probably way overdue here, but ever since updating to 10.4.2:

Dictionary widget's font (that displays "Dictionary" and "Thesaurus") now looks odd, "Thesaurus" is cut off, I recall it being a serif font before, now it looks like Helvetica.

Drag and drop image of Weather widget looks odd - looks vertically smushed, with random white lines all over it.

Other than that, everything works fine.

Any ideas? Or is this a common thing and it will be fixed in 10.4.3?

[Edit]: The Dictionary widget only does that sometimes. Sometimes it uses the correct font. Dunno why or when. The Weather widget's bug is persistant, though.

Refresh. If that doesn't work, trash the plist.

Refresh the Dashboard? How?

Unless you mean close the widgets and reload them. The Weather Widget does this every single time. The Dictionary Widget does it sporadically.

I'll try trashing the plist.

Hmm, refreshing doesn't help. It's not the active Weather Widget that's messed up, it's the preview that's displayed when you're dragging and dropping it over your desktop... when it turns from an icon into a larger preview type shape.

Where's the plist?

Also, is there any way to make the Weather Widget remember your most-used location? It keeps reverting to my timezone city.

(insert name here)-> library -> preferences -> widget-com (insert widget name here).plist

something like that.

or you can search spotlight for say, weather widget.plist and find it that way.

Did the trick! It's no longer vertically smushed!

Still got the white lines though. Don't recall if those are normal...

Thanks!
