hahaha, I was just window shopping to check a few things.

First, the new "cyclops" G4 is a joke. I love how apple has kept the speaker open so that over time you can watch the foam around the main speaker cone deteriorate over time. 1 store in town went so far as cellophane taping the hole shut. Jee, if I had kids I would never consider buying this machine. If VCRs are dangerous for ice cream insertion then what would a cyclops eye be good for? pencils, pens, anything that daddy has in his desk drawers. What does Apple have in their heads? Big ol' thumbs that can't fit in the hole ... hehe I was poking at the speaker for fun and the shop clerk was giving me the evil eye.

Second, I also checked on the length of cords for the new mouse. 1 size fits all apperantly. Ummm ... I'm right handed and the cord when pluged in the left side of an iBook doesn't reach nice to the right side. Sure there's track pad to use but I still don't like how my fingers feel after using a track for extende amounts of time. If you're a lefty be happy since the cord placement is perfect for you.

Think different and put things in weird places and let's forget that speaker cones are pretty fragile.

ten thumbs up ....

Geee.... why hasn't anybody ever written about stupidity in design awards. No, writers on the net these days can only copy and re-write what some one else has already written.

these are my ideas and my thoughts. give me credit if you wish to copy what I have written. It's only fair.

New mouse? You're really up to date That mouse was released a year ago.

And if it doesn't fit your needs, then don't buy it - it's really that simple.

yep ... I'm 13 <-- great typical mac answer. shheeessshhh

Yep, a year ago. I use the puck. The point was that the port is located in an inconvient location and the cord doesn't reach far enough to use efficently. Gee, but that must make sense.

I'm pretty much an original apple user (since the IIe) and I dont see why Apple can't open to criticism.

Yes, Apple and Jobs have done well but a flaw is a flaw.

sorry if you folks don't see it that way.

I guess there are still some things to be grateful for in this life.

I believe they ship an extender USB cord with the computer to solve this problem for people who actually buy a Mac.

I hope that you're joking. Because if not it seems that this would rank with MS forgetting to allow cut/paste in the Explorer that shipped with OSX.

ahhhem ... I was referring to iBooks not macs in general.

folks if you feel what I write/post is childish or immature, then why bother replying???

All new Macs come with a USB extention cord so you can put the mouse 3 feet away from the computer if you want.

What a stupid post. Wrong forum too.

OS X - General Discussion
For discussion of experiences, thoughts, gripes, observations, etc.

Gee, all you elite members and other filled in folks. Looks like macnn then needs a new category since that looks like only viable place. Sure the guy could have broken his post down to 2 separate posts one for G3/4 and one for iBooks. But those seem to me more of a support area than a gripe area.

extension cords -- wow -- a great solution. You buy an extra mouse and get a short cord. I agree with the guy. Seems like an oversight.

hmmm ... apple isn't perfect and screws up too I guess.

Also, didn't the guy leave a something about not replying in his signature. I guess you all read that too. haha.

No, the OS X General Discussion board is the last place that discussing the placement of a USB port makes sense.
The iBook and the PowerMac both have forums for his type of comments.

Besides, Apple's USB extension rules out any inconvenience the iBook would cause.
And the Quicksilver case only needs a speaker cover when jackasses like him run around the store poking at it.

So go ahead and try to justify yourself under another alias, it won't change the fact that everyone here has seen you with your stupid hanging out.

I agree that the big speaker in the front will cause problems. People will no doubt think it is a button and give it a big jab. Over time it will become messed up.

I actually has some idiot adult do that with my pro speakers because they didn't know what they were.

That's funny. I just bought a brand new iBook and it didn't come with an extetion, so I can't use the ProMouse. Where did you get this information, and should I call Apple up and ask for my extension?

Apple either doesn't test enough, doesn't have good enough testers or doesn't pay attention to test results. Their products are generally beautiful, but have annoying flaws, and this exposed speaker will be one of them... one big question here: Why?

Please post in the correct forum. Normally I'd move this topic to the corrct forum but it covers two different topics and there are already threads going in the iBook and PowerMac forums about the new hardware.
