Apple and Mac OS have changed quite a bit throughout the years - Mac OS is now 21 years old!

System 7.5.x days, what a nightmare... Back then, Apple was doing all its best to have its system crash like windows. Sometimes, double clicking too fast would make my mac 7100 freeze. Most apps were crashing joyfully all day long. There was also a dreaded bug on french systems that would make them crash upon boot, with no reasons and no explanation from Apple. It lasted something like 2 years before being adressed in OS 8. Terrible times!

Golden OS X area...

Cheetah to Jaguar looks absoloutely murder on the eyes with those heavy stripes.

I think I remember using System 7.5 at school the little square mac's with the floppy drive. There was another can't remember what it was that had a mouse test demo tutorial thing with a diver searching for fish and you put the treasure into the chest... :o

Yes, but he still just put the whole article on his site. A hyperlink would have done the trick, too.

Yes, very bogus. In fact, I posted an anonymous comment at his site.

Looking at those OS X screens from the distance I can't help but being so glad I declared war to that disastrous interface from day one. What a dysfunctional piece of utter crap. And those screenshots look fast in comparison to what it really was trying to use the system...

I'm glad more people are realising just now what I and some others could see back then.... /kidding

I can remember when I thought all of those versions were cool. Wonder what we will think of Tiger a few years from now? The early versions still kind of bring a smile to my face but I don't miss em.

"Thx" for what? IT WAS ALL HIS! You ripped his entire entry (text AND screenshots) and hosted it on your own site. Very uncool. Why not just link to his blog AT THE BEGINNING? Putting it as an afterthought is insulting.

Actually 7.1.2 with Hardware System Update 2.0 on my Centris 650 was the bomb (this was the introduction of color icons in the file browser in the old Open/Save dialog boxes).
