i've been trying to download the 10.4.2 combo update and, although the download completes (it says its a 55.6 mb file), the verification fails immediately afterward. if i try to run the combo update that was downloaded, it craps out during the install.

anyone else have this problem? can someone with a working 10.4.2 combo update post it somewhere to be downloaded?

I would trash the download and re download the file...are you on a a high speed network?

wow, such fast responses! yeah, i am on a fast cable connection and i tried downloading and trashing it a few times. the apple site says its supposed to be 58 mb, but the download says its 55.6 mb. perhaps that has something to do with it.

mpmancha, that would be very helpful! i'm curious if the download verifies successfully for you.

I'm uploading it now, its 65% complete right now. the download did verify, I didn't try installing b/c I already have the update installed.

well, i'm off to work. i'll check back on this thread when i get home, i really hope i can get this combo update.

the reason i'm doing it is that after i did the 10.4.2 update via software update panel, i had to do the ichat setup process again, but it goes ridiculously slow for some reason, then just hangs completely during the bonjour setup screen. a forum thread i read elsewhere recommended the 10.4.2 combo update to alleviate this problem. there may be other apps that are affected as well.

very strange that i was getting that corrupted download - it was the same size as the one you had posted for me.
