Teacher at a school...our admin made the default when saving to Save To Desktop. I would like to save to specific folders. Is there a way I can change that? Another program or something? I have to save to desktop then drag to my folder everytime, clearly too long.
Thanks.

That's just what the newer Safari does. Hold down Option to change it to "Save As..."

I hold down Control ...then click and I get Save Image To Desktop and some other choices but none to Save to File. I hold Option down and click and it downloads the whole page, without any choices.
Safari Pref..Save Downloaded Files To...Desktop and it is greyed...the admin locked it. We are all net booted with the same image at our school.
Any other thoughts or ways to get around it? Any programs?
Thanks.

Talk to the admin.
If they won't make an exception for you regarding the school's policy, learn to live with it.

Hold down control and click the link. When the contextual menu comes up press option and the "Download Linked File" item changes to "Download LInked File As..."
That is what Apfhex was trying to say

Perfect. I didn't realize or understand at first. Hold Control...Click...then click the Option button in that sequence. Awesome.
Thanks.

You can also open a Finder window and drag an image from Safari to that Window to save it there.
