how to resize img based on shorter side with automator?

the scale action can only resize the image based on the longer side. how can i resize the image based on the shorter side?

I've checked the automator action for iMagine Photo, but i can only base on the longer side. i don't have photoshop. it's better if i can just use preview....

ok. i just found a small free software "resize", and it works great. but i'm still curious how to use automatro to do the job
