I have a netatalk AFP server running on my Gentoo box, and I am unable to transfer files that are longer then 8.3 characters long. I have posted this in UNIX because I'll likely get more replies since it's a CLI based setup. Anyone have any idea what's up w/ this? I followed the instructions from gentoo-wiki.com.

I have never had to use netatalk, but a simple google search reveals that you should be able to use filenames with up to 31 characters. Since you mentioned Gentoo I am going to recommend that you hop on IRC and go to Gentoo's IRC channel. They are located on the freenode network, irc.freenode.net, on channel #gentoo.

There are tons of knowledgeable Gentoo people in there... Let me know if you need help with IRC.
