This is weird. When I was using Panther I had no trouble at all connecting to our Windows network drives and copying files on to it. Now though, I often end up with files that won't open, can't be deleted and can't be renamed. This goes for accessing them from the Mac or from a PC. It's causing real problems now as I have a drive with lots of corrupt files on it.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? It doesn't follow a pattern either, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Arrgh!

try deleting the connection to drives, and re-establishing it. What version of Tiger are you using?

check out the MacWindows web site.

How do you mean 'deleting the connection'. At the moment it has stored the password somewhere because it doesn't ask me for it, how would I clear this? Not listed in the Keychain app. Thanks.

I'm using 10.4.2 by the way. I deleted the only vaguely related reference I could find in the Keychain list but now when I try to access the server it just says the password or name is wrong - yet it doesn't give me the chance to enter the password! Where on earth is it storing it? I tried when logged in as another user on my Mac but the same thing happens... weird!

Just found out it's an old NT4 server if that helps...
