I recently upgraded my wife's 12" 867 powerbook with 1gig of RAM from crucial. Not only was the improvement extremely obvious, but the blasted machine is proving to be as powerful as my brand new 15" 1.5 powerbook, also with 1gig of RAM. A lot of things are comparable in speed, Finder, Safari etc. but Photoshop takes the cake. Drawing using a Wacom and a standard PS nib sized 500px happens in real time on my wife's computer. Trying the same exact thing on my machine results in slowly (agonizingly so) rendered lines. And it's not a slight difference either. We're both running 10.4.

If anyone can think of any reason's why something like this would be happening I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks!

1st think I would check, is your cpu performance settings in the energy saver control panel.
The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.
